Homemade Pizza  


1 Package 1/4oz. Active Dry Yeast                  1 Small Onion, Chopped

1 Teaspoon Sugar                                             1 15oz. Tomato Sauce

1 ¼ Cup Warm Water                                         1 Tablespoon Dried Oregano

¼ Cup Vegetable Oil                                           1 Teaspoon Dried Basil

1 Teaspoon Salt                                                   1 Medium Green Peeper, Diced

3 ½ Cup All Purpose Flour                                 2 Cups Shredded Mozzarella Cheese

½ Pound Ground Beef


In a large bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in water, let stand for 5 minutes. Add oil and salt. Stir in flour, a cup at a time, to form dough. Turn onto flour board, knead until smooth, about 2-3 minutes. Place in a greased bowl, turn once to grease top. Cover and let rise in a warm place until sough doubles in size, approximately 45 minutes.

While waiting, brown beef and onions, then drain, punch down dough, divide to make 2 pizzas. Press into a 12 inch greased pizza pan. Combine the tomato sauce, basil and oregano. Spread over crust. Top with beef mixture, green peppers and cheese. Bake at 400 Degrees for 30-35 minutes or until crust is brown
